BACOLOD City — Carlos Hilado Memorial State University further strengthened its reputation for academic excellence after placing seventh among the country’s top-performing schools in the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) for the Elementary Education level.
Bacolod City College, meanwhile, achieved a perfect 100-percent passing rate.
In a statement, CHMSU lauded the outstanding performance of its graduates from its Alijis (Bacolod City), Binalbagan, and Talisay City campuses in Negros Occidental. The university said its passing rates in both Elementary and Secondary Education significantly surpassed the national averages.
CHMSU recorded a 96.43-percent passing rate in the Elementary Education category, earning recognition as one of the nation’s top-performing teacher education institutions.
“This collective hard work has brought great honor to our institution and demonstrates our commitment to excellence in teacher education,” the university said.
CHMSU also produced two topnotchers in the March 2026 LET.
Kim Patricia Y. Espinosa placed fifth in the Secondary Education level with a rating of 94.20 percent, while Nera Andre B. Quinto ranked eighth in the Elementary Education level with a rating of 93.20 percent.
University officials attributed the achievement to the dedication of students, faculty members, and academic staff who continue to uphold high standards in teacher education.
Meanwhile, BCC marked a milestone after all 40 of its graduates passed the March 2026 LET, giving the institution a 100-percent passing rate.
Of the total passers, 12 graduated from the Elementary Education program and 28 from the Secondary Education program.
Greg Gasataya lauded the achievement, saying it reflects the city’s continued commitment to providing quality and accessible education to Bacolodnons.
“Congratulations, Bacolod City College, on achieving a perfect 100-percent passing rate in the March 2026 LET,” Gasataya said.
He also commended the newly licensed teachers for their dedication and perseverance and encouraged them to continue shaping the next generation of learners in Bacolod.
“To our new teachers, thank you for the support and service you will give to our city. May you continue to pass on your dedication, diligence, and knowledge to the next generation of Bacolodnons,” the mayor added./PN
