ILOILO City – Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Region 6 recovered a .357 revolver from the house of a barangay kagawad of Villahermosa, Sara, Iloilo yesterday.

The subject of the raid, however, 48-year-old Nahor Azuelo, was not around.

The raid as carried out around 6:30 a.m. CIDG secured a search warrant from Judge Rogelio Amador of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 66.

Azuelo was a drug surrenderer, said Senior Inspector Pedro Celino of CIDG.

According to Celino, information reaching CIDG linked Azuelo to a group engaged in gun-running, illegal drugs and gun-for-hire activities.

This group was allegedly led by a dismissed police officer, he added.

“We tailed Azuero for a week” prior to yesterday’s raid, said Celino.

As of this writing, Azuero’s whereabouts were unknown./PN
