BACOLOD City – The City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) Land Tax Division will be open on Saturdays and holidays this month to accept real property tax payments.

Saturday office hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., while on holidays (Dec. 24 and Dec. 30), 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Mayor Evelio Leonardia disclosed.

The Land Tax Division office is in the Bacolod City Government Center.

Aiming for more collections, city hall is taking advantage of the season when “people are happy and have a lot of money,” Leonardia quipped.

More collections “would mean bigger income for the city, and more income means more money to fund projects,” he said.

The CTO urged taxpayers to pay their real property taxes early to “avoid the inconvenience of long queues due to the influx of transactions during December.”

“For those paying [this] December, secure now the computation/billing statement for the calendar year 2017 tax due of your property,” the office said in a notice.

Those who can pay their real property taxes before the year ends will be afforded a 20-percent discount, said the CTO./PN
