BACOLOD City – Regular, co-terminus and casual plantilla employees of the city government will receive P25,000 additional bonus each.

This was after the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) approved the release of the cash incentive yesterday during a special session that Mayor Evelio Leonardia requested.

The bonus is under the Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) between the city government and over its 1,000 workers, who are also members of the Bacolod City Government Employees Union.

Secretary to the Mayor Edward Joseph Cuansing said the employees will receive the CNA bonus on top of the Productivity Enhancement Incentive, Year-End Bonus and Cash Gift.

The CNA bonus is only limited to be at most P25,000 under the Department of Budget and Management’s Budget Circular No. 2017-3.

Last year, Cuansing said the CNA bonus that employees had received was only P3,500 each due to the small amount of savings left at the end of the year.

For his part, Leonardia said, “We give all the benefits to employees based on two conditions – if there is legal basis and if there is availability of funds – following the guidelines set by the Malacañang and the DBM.”

Councilor Caesar Distrito, who chairs the SP committee on finance and appropriations, said the city council allocated P32.5 million – as per Leonardia’s request – for the CNA bonus.

“In order for all of our employees to enjoy and experience a merrier Christmas, we put a collatilla that the bonus will not be subjected to any deduction from any entity and should be released directly by all employees in full,” Distrito added./PN
