BACOLOD City – The City Legal Office wanted to make some repairs at the Bacolod Vendors’ Plaza and the jeepney terminal in Barangay 12.
City Legal Officer Joselito Bayatan said they will open the bidding for legitimate leases in the areas.
But before the clearing operations, a dialogue between the Bacolod Vendor’s Plaza Association (BVPA) and the City Legal Office will be held tomorrow 2 p.m. at the annex building of the Bacolod City Government Center.
Bayatan said they “stand firm” on clearing the areas but they also want to give the BVPA another chance.
The BVPA requested the dialogue after its members failed to attend the Sept. 16 meeting set by City Administrator John Orola.
BVPA president Julie Ann Atienza sent a letter to Orola asking to postpone the meeting to Sept. 30.
However, Orola did not grant the request because he will be out of the city on Atienza’s proposed meeting date.
It was inaccurately reported in this paper that Orola will be out of the country.
For now, the clearing operations were suspended, according to Bayatan./PN
