ILOILO City – The re-elected Mayor Jerry Treñas and his winning Team Uswag councilors will take their oath of office on June 26 before Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri.
The oath-taking will be in front of city hall after the flag-raising ceremony.
Treñas said aside from being an Ilonggo, Zubiri is also his good friend and kumpadre.
The Team Uswag, the political alliance led by Treñas, are composed of re-elected Iloilo City Lone District congresswoman Julienne Baronda, Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon, reelectionist councilors Alan Zaldivar, Atty. Frances Parcon, Rudolph Ganzon, Atty. Rommel Duron, and Ely Estante, and neophytes Atty. Sedfrey Cabaluna, Miguel Treñas, Dr. Urminico Baronda, Atty. Rex Sarabia, and businessman Johnny Young.
It is not clear, as of this writing, if re-electionist Candice Magdalene Tupas will join the Team Uswag oath-taking.
Though she ran under different political party, Tupas has been vocal of her support to Treñas, her wedding godfather.
Last 2019 elections, Treñas, Baronda and their team took their oath of office before Ilonggo Supreme Court Associate Justice Francis Jardeleza./PN
