BACOLOD City – A mall in Barangay Mandalagan and its tenants were asked to speak about the establishment’s alleged “fake” partial occupancy permit.
The City Legal Office (CLO) is looking into the allegation that spread through text messages last year.
Atty. Angelica Rojas of the CLO wrote the CityMall Corporate Office in Makati City asking for an official statement on the issue.
On Nov. 9, 2016, Iyen’s Closet, a mall tenant, submitted to the Office of the Building Official (OBO) a “certificate of partial occupancy” of the mall as a requirement in getting a business permit, Rojas said in a letter dated Dec. 27, 2016.
The OBO does not issue a “partial” occupancy permit, the lawyer said.
One of the “glaring mistakes” in the document, according to Rojas, was the name of the city building official who supposedly signed it: it stated “Engr. Samuel C. Sun” instead of Engr. Isidro C. Sun Jr.
Engr. Reynaldo Tenedero, project-in-charge of the mall, denied any knowledge on the partial occupancy permit, Rojas said.
Moreover, Sun told the CLO that the owner of Iyen’s Closet, Chiles Marie Tayo, said the mall’s administrative office in Manila emailed to her the partial occupancy permit she submitted to the OBO, said the lawyer.
The CLO is verifying all the information it is getting, Rojas told CityMall.
Rojas also wrote Tayo and asked to meet with her to seek clarification on the issue./PN
