BACOLOD City – The City Legal Office (CLO) will take action on a complaint from a resident of Barangay 40 against a business establishment for causing “noise” late in the evening.

CLO will submit its comment within 15 days, Councilor Caesar Distritio said.

Aside from the CLO, the Sangguniang Panlungsod also referred the complaint to the barangay council.

Manz Mendoza complained about the loud music from a live band performing in a business establishment on Jovita Avenue.

Mendoza called the Police Station 6 around 8 p.m. to respond in the area and tell the owner of the establishment to minimize the sound.

However, the police did not take action and the band finished playing at 2:30 a.m.

Mendoza said the barangay should have assigned watchmen to enforce the curfew. She added that the barangay and the city government must not issue business permits to such establishments in residential areas.

She also said City Ordinance No. 356, or the Noise Pollution Ordinance, must be strictly implemented.

Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, Bacolod City Police Office director, said Mendoza may file a complaint at his office if she thinks that the responding police failed to do their job. /PN

  1. I live at john b lacson colleges foundation and our place at ECC Villa is swarmed by boarding houses without landlords. We’ve tried talking to these owners and seemed so deemed resolved. Hope we could have a complaint center in the area. However with the news report then probably we wouldn’t able to solve this problem.
