
ANTIQUE – The Coast Guard Station Antique (CGS-Antique) has issued a Notice to Mariners and an advisory to the maritime community in connection with a fluvial parade today, December 15, along the Malandog River in Barangay Malandog, Hamtic, Antique.
According to the notice, the fluvial parade will take place from 3:30 p.m. to 5:50 p.m., starting from the river mouth at Sitio Datu Sumakuel and proceeding upstream to the Malandog Activity Center.
CGS-Antique advised all vessels, watercraft operators, fishermen, and other maritime stakeholders to exercise maximum caution during the activity, maintain a safe distance from the designated area, and temporarily clear the waterway to give way to the event.
“All vessels and watercraft are advised to exercise maximum caution, maintain a safe distance, and strictly follow the instructions of authorities on site to ensure the safety of participants and the orderly flow of maritime traffic,” CGS-Antique said in its statement.
The Coast Guard emphasized the importance of adhering to safety protocols and following the guidance of authorities deployed in the area to prevent accidents and ensure the smooth conduct of the fluvial parade.
CGS-Antique also appealed for the cooperation of the public and the maritime community, noting that coordination and compliance are vital in safeguarding both participants and regular maritime activities during the event.
The fluvial parade is among the activities scheduled in Hamtic and is expected to draw participants and spectators along the Malandog River./PN
