ILOILO City – Drug pushers are now using “code names” in drug trafficking to deceive operating units and market “good quality” illegal drugs, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Region 6 (PDEA-6).
Director Alex Tablate said this was the drug pushers’ “new style” in trading.
“Gumagamit sila ng code name to know kung saang area galing ang stock either galing sa Muntinlupa, sa Cavite or saang lugar. Pagandahan sila ng quality para ma-market agad,” said Tablate.
“Then ang drug pushers may choice kung saan lugar siya kukuha para maibenta dito sa local areas,” he added.
Other drug pushers just leave the items somewhere “at kunin na lang ng nagpabili,” said Tablate.
The payment will then be given via financial establishments, or online banking.
Tablate said PDEA’s assets were on the move.
“Hindi sila (drug peddlers) makawala as we strengthen our connections with the community,” he said./PN
