ILOILO City – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Region 6 is inviting all men to a three-day special registration from June 21 to 23, in celebration of Father’s Day.
According to Director Dennis Ausan, all election offices will have special registrations for males 18 years old and above – except those in the city and province of Iloilo and Roxas City that is under a modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).
“All Comelec offices except city and province of Iloilo and Roxas City ang ma-conduct sang special registration to cater sang tanan nga kalalakinhan,” Ausan said in an interview with Panay News.
He, however, clarified that the election offices would still cater to anyone trying to register during those days since it is not an exclusive event.
Registrants need only bring any government issued identification card such as passport, PhilHealth ID, Social Security System (SSS) ID, and others.
Ausan said registrations will not be too hard since registrants can just go to their city or municipal election offices, where they will be given an election form to fill-up.
They will also get their biometric information, picture, and signature taken.
The election offices are open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Mondays to Fridays.
Ausan says the Comelec’s special registration is in recognition not only of fathers, but of all men.
He added that they will not only cater to voter’s registrations but also assist in other services such as application of transfer, application for reactivation, correction of entry and change of status.
