Concepcion ‘pusher’ killed in police antidrug operation

ILOILO City – A day after two drug pushing suspects were killed a buy-bust operation of the police in Hamtic, Antique on Saturday for supposedly fighting back, another one died, this time in Concepcion, Iloilo.

On Sunday 56-year-old Roger Deocampo of Barangay Bacjawan Sur, Concepcion was shot by municipal policemen.

He fired at a cop out to arrest him, said Chief inspector Jonah Galitcha, Concepcion police chief.
He described Deocampo as a “high-value target.”

“We have no choice but to shoot him,” said Galitcha.

The buy-bust operation was carried out at around 6:45 p.m. An undercover police officer bought from Deocampo a sachet of shabu, said Galitcha.

The suspect died of a gunshot wound on the left side of his head.

According to Galitcha, Deocampo was a down line of drug lord Melvin Odicta Sr.

He remained active even after Odicta was killed by unidentified gunmen in Malay, Aklan on Aug. 29, 2016, said Galitcha.

Deocampo was also into gunrunning, the Concepcion police chief added.

Prior to the buy-bust, an undercover police officer bought from the suspect a .45 pistol for P17,000 in a separate operation, said Gaticha.

Recovered from the buy-bust scene were a 12-gauge shotgun and a sachet of shabu other than the one sold to the police poseur buyer.
On Saturday two drug pushing suspects put up a fight during a buy-bust operation and so policemen shot them, according to the police station of Hamtic, Antique.

The suspects died while being rushed to the Angel Salazar Memorial Hospital in San Jose, Antique. They were Julius Caesar Bullecer of Quezon City and Joel Urbano, 45, of Belison, Antique.

The buy-bust operation was carried out in Barangay Quintas, Hamtic, Antique, said Senior Inspector Adolfo Pagharion, municipal police chief.

Bullecer and Urbano were newly identified drug personalities operating in Antique, said Pagharion.

The Hamtic police learned that the suspects brought with them from Metro Manila a huge volume of shabu, said Pagharion. A buy-bust operation was immediately planned.

Recovered from the buy-bust scene were a .45 pistol, a .38 revolver and 14 sachets of shabu.

“We have no plan to kill them but they were armed,” said Pagharion./PN
