MANILA – Inflation likely fell within the 5.1 to 5.8 percent target range in July, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) think tank said.
Higher electricity, water, gas, LPG, transportation and rice prices likely drove inflation for the month, from 5.2 percent in June, the BSP’s Department of Economic Research said in a statement.
The BSP said it would take “necessary action to ensure that inflation expectations remain firmly anchored to the target.”
July inflation data is due out on Aug. 7. (ABS-CBN News)
