ILOILO City – A police officer accused by a female inmate of the police station in Mandurriao district of sexual harassment faces an administrative charge.
“We recommended that Police Officer 3 Miguel Jancilan be slapped with a grave misconduct complaint,” said Senior Superintendent Remus Zacharias Canieso, Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) director.
The ICPO forwarded the result of its investigation to the Police Regional Office 6.
The recommendation will be reviewed by the Regional Investigation Detective Management (RIDM) after which Jancilan will be subjected to a summary hearing.
Jancilan was an intelligence officer of the Mandurriao police station.
According to a 19-year-old resident of Barangay Nazaret, Buenavista, Guimaras who was detained at the Mandurriao police station for shoplifting, Jancilan touched her private parts on Jan. 28 around 2 a.m.
Jancilan denied the accusation but admitted talking to the female inmate./PN
