Couple busted for ‘shabu’

ILOILO City – Police arrested two drug suspects in a buy-bust operation at Providence Subdivision in Barangay Balabag, Pavia, Iloilo.

Krishna Mabunay, 40, and live-in partner Emil Sansolis, 40, yielded suspected shabu weighing 55 grams and valued at P380,000, according to Major Mark Anthony Darroca, chief of the Police Regional Office 6’s Regional Drug Enforcement Unit that carried out the buy-bust in coordination with the Pavia police station at around 2:50 p.m. on Saturday.

The suspects would be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

According to Darroca, the couple were suspected suppliers of shabu in Iloilo City.

“Bulto-bulto ila baligya…May nagabakal sa ila kag gina-repack sang street level pushers sa Iloilo City,” he said.

The supply came from the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila, he added.

On the other hand, Pavia police chief, Police Major Rolando Araño said the suspects have no record in their police station.

“Wala kami holdings sa ila…They denied their involvement in illegal drug trading. But our intelligence officers recently received reports about their activity,” Araño said.
