MALINAO, Aklan – Police investigators are facing a blank wall on the killing of a couple in Barangay Cabayugan here.
The victims – Jornas Cabautan, 64, and wife Lucila, 55 – were already decomposing when found on May 4 by neighbors who tracked the foul smell bugging them to the couple’s house.
The municipal police station was right away alerted.
The couple was last seen alive on April 30 at a birthday party in their neighborhood.
Lucila was found in the kitchen area with multiple stab wounds on her abdomen and head.
The medical examiner also found wounds on the head of Lucila’s husband.
Police investigators did not find any murder weapon in the Cabautan house.
They were looking into robbery as one of the motives.
No suspects have been named but the police said they have at least seven persons of interest.
The couple shared a burial plot when they were laid to rest at the Alaminos public cemetery in Madalag, Aklan on May 5./PN
