ILOILO City – A village chief charged with attempting to kill a relative was arrested on Wednesday in Barangay Cabagiao, Calinog, Iloilo.
From his house, Cabagiao barangay captain Ciriaco Cercado, 50, was taken to the Calinog police station around 8 a.m.
The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Ronaldo Melliza of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court for attempted homicide with a recommended bail bond of P13,000.
Cercado was accused of trying to shoot relative Danilo Memoria during a heated argument sometime in October 2016, said Senior Inspector Kennith Berme
jo, Calinog police chief.
