PASSI City — Central Philippine University stamped its dominance on the 2026 V-League Visayas by sweeping the women’s and men’s championships, highlighted by the Golden Lions’ four-set conquest of the University of St. La Salle in the women’s finals at the City of Passi Arena here.
CPU seized control early and turned back USLS, 25-16, 25-17, 23-25, 25-16, to complete its title run in the women’s division.
The Golden Lions dictated the tempo in the first two sets before the La Salle squad fought back in the third, 25-23, to extend the championship match.
CPU quickly regained its composure in the fourth, pulling away from USLS for a decisive 25-16 victory that sealed the crown.
Arianne Kew spearheaded the Golden Lions’ championship campaign and was named Finals Most Valuable Player and Best Opposite Spiker.
Rica Gail Silvestre, meanwhile, took home the Most Valuable Player of the Conference award, while CPU teammates Mikhaela Miranda and Rovy Ann Amuan were recognized as first Best Middle Blocker and Best Setter, respectively.
USLS’ Luria Yap earned second Best Outside Spiker honors, while teammate Allyzah Beatinco was named second Best Middle Blocker.
The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos settled for third place in the women’s division, with Kristine Joy Alositain earning first Best Outside Spiker honors and Andrea Gison receiving the Best Libero award.
CPU completed its championship sweep by also ruling the men’s division, with the University of San Agustin finishing runner-up and UNO-R placing third.
