Culasi patrol car crashes; woman dead, 7 injured

SIBALOM, Antique – A police patrol car crashed along the national highway in Barangay Bongsod here.

A female job order employee of the local government unit (LGU) of Sibalom died while seven others were injured.

On board a patrol car of the Culasi municipal police station, the 25-year-old Anamae Alpa of Barangay Bita, Culasi with seven others were on their way to San Jose de Buenavista town when the mishap happened on Monday at around 10:50 a.m.

Police Staff Sergeant Romel Brenio of the Culasi police and driver of the patrol car lost control of the vehicle while trying to avoid crashing against a motorcycle that unexpectedly made a left turn.

The patrol car went off-road, hit a steel lamp post and concrete fence, then fell on its side. 

Brenio was injured and was taken to the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital in San Jose together with the following companions who also sustained injuries: 

* Patrolman Monalisa Sayco, 26, of Barangay Camansijan, Culasi

* Police Staff Sergeant Novel Gerona, 39, of Barangay Jalandoni, Culasi

* Patrolman Reynante Apolinario of Barangay Buluangan 1, Culasi

* Marjoe Cel Montilla, 24, of Barangay Lindero, Tobias Fornier, Antique 

* Lanaine Salvan, 26, of Barangay San Juan, Culasi

* Kevin Rey Dimamay, 27, of Centro Norte, Culasi

Sayco, Gerona and Apolinario were all members of the Culasi police force, too, while Montilla, Salvan and Dimamay were all job order employees of the Culasi LGU./PN
