DA allotted P36-M for a slaughterhouse in Nueva Valencia

GUIMARAS – The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Nueva Valencia, Guimaras is grateful after they got a new municipal abattoir/slaughterhouse.

This also follows the groundbreaking ceremony last March 22 of P36,977,813.93 worth of new municipal abattoir/slaughterhouse.

“The LGU of Nueva Valencia would like to express its gratitude to the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project (DA -PRDP) for their invaluable assistance in making this project possible. Before the end of the year, our town will have its slaughterhouse,” said Vice Mayor Paul Vincent DeLa Cruz.

The 2000 square meters municipal slaughterhouse is funded under the Department of Agriculture- Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP).

The construction of the facility is expected to benefit at least 1,841 livestock raisers, 33 meat vendors, 21 resorts, and 75 eateries in the province. Likewise, it aims to establish and operate an abattoir in the municipality with an improved, humane, and standard technique in the processing of safe and quality meat.

It is expected to commence on March 30, 2022, with a project duration of 403 calendar days, targeted to be accomplished on May 7, 2023. /PN
