Deaths due to measles reach 70

MANILA – The number of deaths due to measles has climbed to 70, records from the Department of Health showed.

The number of measles patients across the country from January 1 to Feb. 9 has reached 4,302, the data added.

Due to the measles outbreak, Health secretary Francisco Duque III has started visiting hospitals and health centers to monitor the situation.

The health secretary first visited the Rizal Medical Center where 25 measles patients and four casualties were reported.

Eleven of the patients are still admitted in the hospital. (With GMA News/PN)
