DILG: Mandatory training for SK

BACOLOD City – The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in this city requires all Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) winners in the recently concluded barangay and SK elections to undergo training before formally assuming office.

DILG city director Ma. Joy Maredith Madayag said training is ongoing from Oct. 30 until Nov. 14.

Indi sila ka-assume kag indi man sila ka-participate sa SK Federation election kon indi sila mag-undergo mandatory training,” the city DILG director emphasized.

The federation election is set for Nov. 15, she added.

Newly-elected barangay and SK officials will assume office at noon on Nov. 30.

Madayag also said that the DILG is conducting an inventory in the 61 barangays here to prepare for the turnover.

Meanwhile, the Commission on Elections in Bacolod City has yet to furnish the official list of winners.

The conduct of the polls has been successful and peaceful, according to Lieutenant Colonel Ronnie Brillo, Deputy for Administration under the office of the city police director.

No election-related crime incidents were reported on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30, he added.

Brillo also noted zero apprehensions for violations of the liquor ban or illegal possession of firearms on the said days./PN
