SAGAY City – MDM College Inc., Dr. Vicente F. Gustillo Memorial National High School and Dona Monserrat National High School cruised to an early advantage in the Silay-Sagay leg of the Chooks-to-Go SM National Basketball Training Center tournament in the Sagay City Gym.
MDM College began a strong campaign with a 92-67 dominance over Toboso National High School and blowing Vito National High School its first defeat at 129-72.
Meanwhile, Dr. Vicente F. Gustillo Memorial National High School obtained their first glory of the tournament by outperforming CEDAR College, 105-83, with Johnrie Naingue leading the victors with 23 points.
Dona Monserrat National High School also won their opening match after they gave CEDAR College a second loss, 123-94.
CEDAR College were however able to size up with their defeats after they won matches against St. Theresita’s Academy, 92-90, and St. Francis of Assisi School, 100-91.
John Paul Pegarido sizzled for 28 points to anchor Vito National High School to a slim and thrilling 107-106 victory over Caduha-an National High School. Vito National High improved to 2-1 slate.
Caduha-an National High School and St. Thresita’s Academy had a 1-1 slate, Toboso National High School with 1-2, while Eusebio Lopez Memorial School and St. Francis of Assisi are still winless in two matches./PN
