CAPIZ – The Department of Health (DOH) recorded a total of 14 cases of firecracker-related injuries in Capiz during the recent holiday season.
According to Joeffry Espiritu, development management officer of DOH-Capiz, three of the cases were from Pontevedra town; two each from Jamindan, Dumarao, Panay and Sapian; and one each from Ivisan, President Roxas and Sigma.
The victims’ injuries were caused by boga, kwitis, whistle bomb, bilong-bilong, triangle, sparklers, and super baskog.
Espiritu said the firecracker-related cases during the same period last year was just one case higher.
There were no reported deaths or amputations due to firecrackers blasts in the province./PN
