NEGROS Occidental – The Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 6 has rolled out its Accreditation on Wheels program in Negros Occidental as part of the province’s Tourism Week celebration that will run from September 15 to 20 at Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod City.
The program aims to make the accreditation process more convenient and accessible for tourism stakeholders in the province. Through the mobile service, establishments and industry players can process their applications, renewals, and other requirements directly at the venue.
According to DOT, accreditation is vital in ensuring that tourism enterprises comply with national quality and service standards. It also enhances customer confidence, strengthens competitiveness, and contributes to the sustainable growth of the tourism industry in Western Visayas and the Negros Island Region.
The initiative covers both Primary Tourism Establishments (PTEs) — including hotels, resorts, tourist inns, pension houses, travel and tour agencies, tour operators, transport services, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) facilities, and tour guides — and Secondary Tourism Establishments (STEs) such as restaurants, agri-tourism farms, souvenir and pasalubong centers, spas, wellness facilities, and theme parks.
Applicants may visit the Accreditation on Wheels booth during the scheduled dates or access the online portal at https://accreditation.tourism.gov.ph. A QR code is also available for easy reference.
DOT-6 reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality service, promoting inclusive growth, and strengthening the tourism industry across Western Visayas and the Negros Island Region through the initiative./PN
