ILOILO City – A tricycle driver was found dead under Avenue Bridge in Barangay 9, Roxas City.
The 46-year-old resident John Albaladejo hanged himself, police said.
A cigarette vendor, Kent Magbanua, told the police he saw Albaladejo sitting on the bridge at around 3 a.m. on Dec. 29, 2017. Minutes later, Albaladejo jumped off, Magbanua said.
“The people who saw him thought he jumped into the water to swim,” said investigator Senior Police Officer 1 Rocky Dimayuga. “They were shocked to later find him hanging.”
From what the police have so far gathered, Albaladejo got depressed after his wife left him a year ago for being an alcoholic.
Dimayuga said Albaladejo’s family were convinced the victim committed suicide./PN
