‘Drug den’ dismantled; 9 arrested

BACOLOD City – The dismantling of a suspected drug den in Barangay 5, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental led to the arrest of nine individuals.

Thirty-year-old Dominio Navales of the city’s Barangay 6 initially sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover agent of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for P500, police said.

Other suspects caught around 11:41 a.m. on June 6 were:

* Encarnacion Siaboc, 25, of Burgos Street in Barangay 6

* Leslie Luague, 48, of Phase 3, Barangay Rizal

* Joel Canaman, 44, of Sitio Tunga, Barangay Palampas

* Perlyn Mahinay, 29, of Campo Siete, Barangay 5

* Dari Jayn Navarro, 34, of Margarita Subdivision, Barangay 2

* Juanito Manate Jr., 26 of Barangay 5

* Bonifacio Jamili, 49, of Barangay 5; and

* Anome Egonia, 40, of Barangay 5.

Police operatives confiscated four small and three big sachets of suspected shabu valued at P102,000; P200 cash, a cellular phone, and other drugs paraphernalia.

The suspects were detained at the San Carlos City police station.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, would be filed against them./PN
