Drug pushing suspect falls in Kalibo buy-bust

KALIBO, Aklan – A man who previously surrendered under “Oplan Tokhang” was arrested in a buy-bust operation here.

Lowie Jay Revestir Pastrana, 26, was a resident of Barangay Andagao. He was apprehended by anti-narcotics operatives of the Aklan Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) on Dec. 4 at around 3:53 p.m. at Vizcarra Subdivision.

An undercover policeman was able to buy from the suspect two sachets of suspected marijuana for P2,000, the police reported.

Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and police officers of Kalibo also joined in the operation.

Recovered were four self-sealing transparent plastic sachets each containing suspected dried marijuana leaves and seeds, a mobile phone, disposable lighter, an improvised metal pipe and two improvised water glass pipe with dried marijuana leaves, P5,690 cash in various denominations, a large plastic sachet of suspected dried marijuana leaves and seeds, opened transparent plastic sachet with dried marijuana leaves, and three suspected dried marijuana leaves and stalk in a short sealed transparent plastic sachets.

Aklan PDEU chief Lieutenant Colonel Frensy Andrade said the suspect was placed under surveillance prior to the buy-bust.

“Mga bata ang mga kliyente in Kalibo, Lezo, Boracay Island, New Washington and Altavas. Nag-umpisa siya noong high school pa siya. Sa courier dumadaan ang kanyang supply. Shabu nagtitinda din siya,” said Andrade.
