ILOILO City – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) believed drug suspect Ernesto Bolivar of Pototan, Iloilo has not left Western Visayas.
There have been sightings of Bolivar in several towns of Iloilo and Capiz provinces, said Senior Superintendent Marlon Tayaba, IPPO director.
Believed to be the right-hand man of slain drug lord Richard Prevendido, Bolivar’s arrest is now the priority of the IPPO.
“I’m sure hindi ‘yan lalayo dito sa Western Visayas,” said Tayaba.
Bolivar had a standing arrest warrant for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. He was charged although he managed to escape from policemen trying to entrap him in a buy-bust operation at his house in Barangay Guinacas, Pototan in November last year.
“We have listed some towns where we believe Bolivar is staying,” said Tayaba but he declined to identify these municipalities because “our manhunt operation is ongoing.”
The IPPO formed a team to track down Bolivar.
The Capiz Police Provincial Office is also hunting Bolivar. Senior Superintendent Samuel Nacion, director, said the suspect was sighed in two towns.
“Yes, we received information that he is in my area. We are trying to zero in on his hiding place,” said Nacion./PN
