BACOLOD City ā Three pedicab drivers were arrested for illegal drug possession in Barangay 5, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental. One of them also yielded a firearm when frisked, police said.
San Carlos City police head Superintendent Dā Artagnan Katalbas Jr. identified the drivers as the 35-year-old Reymundo Dolino, 27-year-old Mark Carallas and 21-year-old Cris John Talavero ā all residents of Barangay 5.
Dolino, Carallas and Talavero were caught in an entrapment operation that a team led by San Carlos City police deputy head Senior Inspector Mark Angelo Junco staged around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday.
All of them are newly identified drug suspects, police said.
Recovered from their possession were several sachets of suspected shabu, cellphones and empty sachets with traces of suspected shabu, police said.
Police also recovered from Carallas a .38-caliber revolver loaded with five live bullets.
The three suspects were detained at the San Carlos City police station lockup facility, facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Danfgeorus Drugs Act of 2002.
Charges for violation of RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, were also filed against Carallas./PN
