CAPIZ—The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VI (DSWD FO VI) continues to provide Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) assistance to communities recovering from the devastation brought by Tropical Cyclone “Ramil”, sustaining relief efforts across several Capiz municipalities.
The program aims to deliver immediate financial support to families whose homes and livelihoods were disrupted by the typhoon.
On December 1 and 2, 2025, at least 6,000 beneficiaries received cash assistance during a major distribution activity. The payout covered five municipalities identified as either slightly or severely affected, ensuring that aid reached the most impacted households.
A total of 3,506 beneficiaries from Sigma, 1,562 from President Roxas, 1,230 from Pontevedra, 346 from Dao, and 74 from Maayon received financial support. Families assessed as severely affected were granted P10,010 each, while those classified as slightly affected received P5,005, based on the ECT program guidelines.
The assistance is intended to help families meet urgent needs, purchase essential goods, repair damaged homes, and begin restoring livelihoods.
The distribution was facilitated by the DSWD Angels in Red Vests, who ensured an orderly, transparent, and efficient payout process. DSWD officials emphasized that all activities adhered to the protocols of Memorandum Circular No. 11, which outlines the revised guidelines for implementing Emergency Cash Transfers.
The initiative is in line with the directive of DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian to continue supporting affected families until they fully recover. It also reflects the broader mandate of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to provide timely government assistance to communities impacted by natural calamities.
