AKLAN — The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VI (DSWD-6) continues to provide assistance to families affected by recent typhoon impacts in the province through its Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) program.
The agency has distributed financial aid to thousands of beneficiaries in Aklan following the effects of Typhoon “Tino,” covering several municipalities classified as either slightly or severely affected.
Based on DSWD-6 data, beneficiaries include 522 in Banga, 194 in Makato, 96 in Ibajay, 78 in Nabas, 37 in Buruanga, 25 in Malinao, 14 in Malay, and eight in Lezo.
Under the ECT program, families categorized as severely affected received P10,325, while those slightly affected were given P5,369 to help address immediate needs during the recovery period.
To ensure transparency and efficiency in distribution, the agency utilized the BBM Serbisyo (Basta Beripikado, Mabilis ang Serbisyo) online registration system, which uses PhilSys ID verification to prevent duplication and fraud while ensuring aid reaches qualified beneficiaries./PN
