ILOILO City – In a bid to help the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the province, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 6 will launch more Negosyo Centers than originally planned.
Earlier this year, it was reported that the DTI targets to establish 19 Negosyo Centers. But according to Regional Director Rowena Rascon, more local chief executives have committed to create Negosyo Centers in their municipalities.
The local chief executives have committed to provide spaces for the Centers, Rascon said.
According to a press release from the DTI, the proposed centers will be in the towns of Malinao, Malay, Makato and Libacao in Aklan; Sibalom, Culasi, Sebaste, Patnongon, Libertad and Anini-y in Antique; Tapaz, Dumarao, Panay and Jamindan in Capiz; Nueva Valencia and Sibunag in Guimaras; Oton, San Miguel, Pototan, Barotac Nuevo, Estancia, Guimbal, Zarraga, Cabatuan, Banate and Ajuy in Iloilo; and Bago, Silay, Sipalay, Cadiz, Himamaylan, Escalante and Talisay in Negros Occidental.
The launching of the Negosyo Center in Makato, Aklan is scheduled on March 8, Libacao on March 16, Malinao on April 20, and Malay on May 18.
The schedule of the launching for the other Centers was not yet released by the DTI.
The DTI-6 is urging entrepreneurs to avail themselves of the services of the Negosyo Centers. (With a report from DTI-6/PN)
