DTI turns over shared service facility to Antique high school

SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique – A shared service facility (SSF) amounting to P300,000 was recently turned over by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to San Pedro National High School (SPNHS) here.

Information officer Lynna Joy Cardinal of DTI said the project hoped to benefit more than 800 students with subjects in cookery and bread and pastries.

The SSF project aims to improve the competitiveness of the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by providing them with machinery, equipment, tools, systems, skills and knowledge under shared system.

School principal Marilyn D. Sorilla extended her appreciation to DTI for the “We Learn We Earn” project intended for learning and income generating which will benefit the in-school youth and their parents as well.

DTI Assistant Regional Director Ermelinda P. Pollentes  with Provincial Director Mercedes A. Young turned over the equipment to the school consisting of  dough mixer, horizontal continuous band sealer, heavy duty steamer, working table among other materials for cookery subjects during the program held in said school with Mr. Antonio Legarda representing the Sen. Loren Legarda.

The equipment was placed in the Technological Vocational Livelihood Laboratory of the school accessible to the students.

The SPNHS community committed to operate the project complying with good manufacturing practices in the production of healthy, delicious and affordable products

The said SSF is the first unit of the 48 shared service facilities scheduled to be launched in various schools and MSMEs in the province. (PIA/PN)
