MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte had dinner with some of business leaders on Tuesday evening “to bring them on board the government’s inclusive growth goal,” Malacañang revealed yesterday.
Joining Duterte in a “three-hour” meeting were Enrique Razon of the Solaire Resorts & Casino Manila, Hans Sy of SM Prime Holdings, Inc., Manuel V. Pangilinan of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co., and Michael Tan of the Lucio Tan Group.
Former president and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry president George Barcelon were also present.
Go Negosyo’s Joey Concepcion, presidential consultant on entrepreneurship, facilitated the meeting, said Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella.
“Concepcion said everybody walked out extremely, extremely happy,” Abella said. “Their preconceptions regarding the President were settled because of the one-on-one conversation with [him].”
Federalism, contractualization, job generation, and tax reform were discussed in the meeting, the spokesperson said./PN
