MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte was expected to meet with United States President Donald Trump at Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Vietnam from Nov. 8 to 10.
Duterte and Trump could have their first official one-on-one meeting at the welcome dinner on Nov. 8, according to Foreign Affairs assistant secretary Leo Herrera Lim.
“There are several opportunities both at the welcome dinner on the 8th, and then there will also be several engagements, including the gala dinner and the meetings,” Lim told a press briefing in Malacañang yesterday.
Duterte was scheduled to leave for Vietnam tomorrow for the APEC Summit.
Trump will also be in the Philippines on Nov. 12 and 14 for the ASEAN Summit./PN
