MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte urged female police officers to fulfil their safeguarding duties “legally.”
Duterte also wants female cops to effectively implement the administration’s anti-illegal drugs campaign.

“Trabaho lang kayo. Akona ang nag-garantiya ngayon, if you do it legally, fine. I will support you to the end. Just do it in the performance, in the fulfillment of a duty. Just do it right,” he said during the 9th National Biennial Summit on Women in Community Policing in Davao City.
The policewomen were also reminded to remain loyal to their country and the Constitution.

“I am not asking for your personal loyalty. I do not need it actually. Just reserve it for your country, for the flag, for the Constitution,” he added.
Recognizing the country’s problem of drugs “will take years” to eliminate due to the “magnitude of the contamination,” Duterte asked the police to protect the country from harm and danger.

“If this problem would outlast me for one reason or another, mawala ako, mamatay ako, ganon, this is one request from commander-in-chief: Huwag ninyong hayaan ang bayan,” Duterte said.
“This is your country. If it is destroyed, if it runs into a gamut of so many historical proportions, patay ang Pilipino.”/PN
