SAN JOSE, Antique – Food packs from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) have been distributed to El Niño affected families in the four towns of Antique.
The food packs are relief assistance from the DSWD for the province, which was placed under a state of calamity on June 23 because of the damage caused by the El Niño phenomenon.
Although the food packs were turned over only this week, Gov. Rhodora Cadiao expressed gratitude that the affected families in the province can now avail of assistance from the national government agency.
The four towns that received initial releases are the municipalities of Tobias Fornier (2,102 affected families), Bugasong (1,137 affected families), Barbaza (764 affected families), and Patnongon (3,103 affected families).
Antique has 34,172 El Niño affected families who are expected to avail of the food packs. (PNA)
