Ex-village chief shot dead in President Roxas

CAPIZ — A former barangay captain was shot dead by riding-in-tandem gunmen past 6 a.m. on May 25 in Barangay Santo NiƱo, President Roxas town.

Nelson Daluyo was 61 years old, a resident and former punong barangay of Purok Malipayon, Barangay Bayuyan, President Roxas.

He sustained a fatal gunshot wound on the head.

According to the President Roxas police, Daluyo was ambushed while driving his motorcycle.

He died while being rushed to the Bailan District Hospital in Pontevedra, Capiz by the responding personnel of the Active Lutod-Lutod Emergency Team (ALERT).

President Roxas chief police Captain Alfred De Leon said his investigators were exploring several angles, including politics, land dispute and personal grudge, as possible motives.

The gunmen remained unidentified and at large as of this writing./PN
