KALIBO, Aklan – “Expanded” Small Town Lottery (STL) operations will start in the province on March 25.
The operator Yetbo Gaming Philippines Corp. is an authorized agent corporation (AAC) of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
It holds office on N. Roldan Street, Barangay Poblacion, said John Martin Philemon Alipao, acting financial management officer for PCSO-Aklan.
Yetbo is authorized to sell tickets for STL and other PCSO lottery products only to individuals 18 years old and above and mandated to remit sales to the agency.
Its sales force and other employees are also issued with PCSO-prescribed uniforms and identification cards, Alipao said.
“The STL operator needs no endorsement from the local government since STL is merely an extension of PCSO,” Alipao said in a phone interview. “[The local government] may get its share [from] lottery ticket sales.”
PCSO has 56 AACs in cities and provinces nationwide as of January.
Marikudo STL Corp. operates in Antique, Super Lucky Beagler, Inc. in Negros Occidental, Eagle Crest Gaming and Holding Corp. in Iloilo province, and ZFIC Iloilo Gaming Corp. in Iloilo City, among others.
The AACs have an STL agency agreement and a cash bond with PCSO.
President Rodrigo Duterte signed Executive Order No. 13 on Feb. 2 to strengthen government-sanctioned STL operations.
An expanded STL operation is poised to increase government revenue and provide jobs in municipalities.
