BORACAY – Another cruise ship was set to dock in this island resort on May 31.
MS Skysea Golden Era, formerly known as Celebrity Century, was scheduled for its maiden port call in Boracay.
The vessel carries 1,800 passengers and 850 crew members, said Kristoffer Leo Velete, officer-in-charge of the Department of Tourism – Boracay.
Just this March, the island welcomed thousands of tourists on board three luxury cruise ships.
GTS Celebrity Constellation of Celebrity Cruises started its 14-day cruise from March 5 to 19 in Singapore.
Carrying more than 2,000 guests and 900 crew members and service personnel, the vessel sailed to Phu My and Chan My in Vietnam (March 7 to 9), Hong Kong (March 11) and Manila (March 13).
It arrived in Boracay on March 14 and headed to Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia on March 16 and will return to Singapore from March 18 to 19.
Passengers stayed in Boracay from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. before the cruise ship departed to Malaysia.
MS Seabourn Sojourn is also cruising from March 18 to May 31 for a 75-night North Pacific Exploration Cruise from Hong Kong to Seattle.
With 500 guests and 300 crew members, the ship stopped over in Boracay on March 14.
Some 400 tourists and 300 crew members on board MS Europa of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises returned to Boracay on March 13.
The docking was part of a 21-night, 22-day one-way cruise from Koror (Palau) to Manila from February 22 to March 15. (With Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
