BACOLOD City – A vintage fragmentation grenade was found in Purok White Lady, Barangay Ara-al, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.

The 40-year-old Cris Pamolino was digging for the construction of a concrete wall in a residential compound when he found the explosive.

Pamolino immediately turned it over to the authorities on Monday, said Superintendent Crescenciano Cordero, La Carlota City police head.

The compound owner, 67-year-old Nelda Valenzuela, was surprised with the vintage explosive.

Valenzuela told the police she never thought their compound would yield a possible remnant of World War II./PN
