Express courier company employee killed in ‘robbery’

AKLAN – An employee of an express courier company was shot dead in an alleged robbery incident in Barangay Dumga, Makato town.

The 23-year-old Jan Andrei Bolido, a resident of Barangay Tondog, Tangalan town and an employee of J&T Express, succumbed to a gunshot wound on the left side of his body.

Makato police said Bolido was about to board a truck to go to the bank to deposit money when an unidentified man approached him and declared holdup around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 27.

The suspect then shot the victim and seized the plastic container containing approximately P200,000 in cash.

Police added that the suspect fled on a motorcycle towards Poblacion, Makato.

Albert, the victim’s father, said his eldest child has been working in the courier company for two years.

Makato police are currently conducting a thorough investigation on the crime to identify the assailant./PN
