ILOILO City — Western Visayas’ creative entrepreneurs took center stage as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 6 opened Panublion 2025 on November 6 at SM City Iloilo, celebrating the region’s growing reputation as a hub of world-class craftsmanship, design innovation, and cultural pride.

The annual fair, which features the finest works of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental, highlights how traditional artistry continues to evolve through digital transformation and sustainable innovation.

DTI-6 officer-in-charge regional director Ma. Dinda Tamayo said Panublion has become “a symbol of regional pride and creativity,” noting how MSMEs have risen from humble beginnings to reach both national and global markets.

“The true success of Panublion lies not just in the beautiful products displayed but in the pride, skill, and creativity of the people behind them,” Tamayo said.

Encouraging exhibitors to embrace modern approaches while preserving their cultural identity, she added,

“The products that you see are not just a transformation of raw materials but the magical craftsmanship and creativity imbued in them. The secret ingredient is in the product itself… it will all go back to who we are and what we have done.”

The fair opened with a symbolic digital ceremony led by Tamayo, OIC assistant regional director Mutya Eusores, and provincial directors, representing the unity and collaboration of Western Visayas’ creative industry network.

Visitors flocked to the Food Tasting Pavilion, where coconut-based delicacies, artisanal coffee, and other local specialties drew long queues.

“Every product tells a story, and we invite everyone to discover the best of our culture and craftsmanship,” Tamayo said.

Running from November 6 to 10, Panublion 2025 aims to connect local artisans with larger markets and inspire innovation among MSMEs.

Tamayo stressed that this year’s exhibit stands out for its sophistication and market readiness.

“For Panublion 2025, we guarantee dynamism. Our MSMEs have made significant progress in product development. The range of new products, along with attractive and functional labeling and packaging, is now on par with or exceeds that of their competitors,” she noted.

DTI-6 hopes the fair will continue to serve as a platform for entrepreneurs to expand their reach and affirm Western Visayas’ position as a creative powerhouse in the country./PN
