Farmer yields gun, ammunition in Dumarao raid

CAPIZ – Police arrested a 33-year-old farmer for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition in a raid in Barangay Taslan, Dumarao town, around 6:14 p.m. on June 10.

Officers of the Dumarao Municipal Police Station (MPS) seized from alias “Rodel”, a resident of the said place, one unit of caliber .45 pistol and its magazine loaded with six live cartridges.

The suspect was detained at the Dumarao MPS. He will be charged for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), commended the relentless and successful campaign of the Capiz Provincial Police Office against loose firearms.

“This successful operation shows PRO6’s unwavering commitment in pursuing the holders of these loose firearms and held them accountable,” said Wanky./PN
