BACOLOD City – A resident of Barangay Udtongan, Escalante City, Negros Occidental was stabbed by his father. He died.
Jerson Benigay, 31, allegedly tried to set their house on fire around 7 p.m. on Sunday, said Superintendent Leonardo Borromeo, Escalante police head.
Nestor Benigay, 52, surrendered to the authorities.
He said his drunken son asked them to leave the house because he will burn it down. The younger Benigay shouted and tried to attack his father when told not to do it. That was when the older Benigay grabbed a knife and stabbed his son on the stomach.
The younger Benigay was rushed to the Dr. Vicente F. Gustilo Memorial District Hospital, also in Escalante, but was declared “dead on arrival.”/PN
