Feasibility study for flyover on Burgos Extension finished

BACOLOD City – The feasibility study for a proposed flyover along Lopues East, Burgos Extension, Barangay Villamonte has been finished.

Cong. Greg Gasataya confirmed that City District Engineer Abraham Villareal of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Bacolod informed him that the DPWH – Central Office already completed the study.

It will be forwarded to the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) for approval.

Gasataya said he previously requested DPWH to conduct a feasibility study on the construction of a flyover in the areas of Burgos Extension, Circumferential Road, Bangga Cory, and in CL Montelibano.

The Office of the President previously approved five flyovers to be constructed nationwide, and Bacolod City was one of the sites.

This would be the third flyover in this city – the two others were along Lacson-Circumferential Road and in Barangay Singcang-Airport along Magsaysay-Araneta Street.

Meanwhile, a feasibility study for the proposed P1.1-billion CL Montelibano Avenue-Bacolod Circumferential Road underpass project is ongoing.

Once approved and finished, the 600-meter underpass will be the first of its kind in Western Visayas, said Gasataya./PN
