ILOILO City – Fire completely gutted 10 houses and partially damaged one in Barangay Baybay Norte, Miag-ao, Iloilo yesterday.

The totally damaged houses belonged to Reynaldo Siason, Mary Jane Palmos, Wilforo Dalisay, Rosie Morit, Joebert Sapan, Ronnie Severino, Pepe Severino Jr., Roman Tetisa, Pepe Severino Sr., and Queen Marie Sason.

The partially damaged house was owned by Lourdes Palmos.

According to Fire Inspector Ronnie Malijan of the Miag-ao fire station, the blaze started in the house of Severino Sr. then quickly scattered to nearby houses.

As this was being written, the cause of fire was still being determined, and so was the estimated value of the gutted properties.

“We found it hard to penetrate the fire scene. The road was very narrow,” said Malijan.

The Miag-ao firefighters got help from the fire stations of nearby towns.

No one died or got injured in the fire./PN
