ILOILO – A fire destroyed a two-storey house in Barangay Balud Lilo-an, Zarraga town on Sunday afternoon, October 20.
According to Fire Officer 1 John Chris Banga of the Zarraga Municipal Fire Station, the damage to property was estimated at P90,000.
Investigation showed that the fire broke out at Diaz family’s house made of mixed light materials at around 2 p.m. A “fire-out” was declared at 2:48 p.m.
Banga said an unattended lighted candle at the second floor was believed to be the cause of the fire.
One member of the Diaz family, a senior citizen, sustained a first degree burn, fire officers added.
The Zarraga Municipal Fire Station said all members of the Diaz family temporarily stayed with their relative as of this writing./PN
