ILOILO City – A Monday morning fire hit a house in La Paz district.
Mary Rose Espora totally lost her house. The fire struck around 10:02 a.m.
Espora’s house was made of light materials.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), “loose connection” of energized electrical wires resulted to a short circuit.
“May combustible materials like mga foams kag bayo didto, amo na nag-trigger pa gid kalayo,” said Fire Officer 2 Denmark Macoco, BFP fire investigator.
There was no one in the house when the fire struck, Macoco added.
The fire did not spread to neighboring houses, thanks to the quick response of the BFP.
A fire-out was called at 10:23 a.m.
Macoco reminded house owners to replace and/or uninstall loose electrical connections.
“Kung dugay na ang kuryente, i-uninstall dapat kag i-replace na. Avoid gid ang loose connection kag mag gamit sang standard nga wiring. Dapat licensed technician gid ang (magtakod kuryente),” Macoco added./PN
